For many years, the issue of global overpopulation has influenced some of the most significant decisions in my life.

In 2016, during the bustling rush hour, I was walking through the Piazza Navona metro station in Rome, Italy, when my attention was captured by posters with the inscription "VENDESI," deliberately left blank. As I aimed my cellphone camera at these posters, I was astonished by the appearance of human figures that were completely invisible to the naked eye.

Motivated by this intriguing discovery, I returned to the station the next day with the intention of photographing these posters as a backdrop to the frenzied flow of pedestrians filling the environment. While capturing the images, I monitored the ongoing evolution of the world's population through the platform www.worldometers.info/world-population/.

The "VENDESI" photo essay encapsulates not only the invisibility of the countless individuals who share our planet but also echoes a call for a deeper reflection on our role as inhabitants and the responsibilities we share in the face of the growing global population.
